3rd Sept. 13:00 - 15:00

Iceland University of the Arts Laugarnesvegur

Are plants able to enjoy art? In a practical workshop, students at the performing arts department at the Iceland University of the Arts research the possibilities of creating art for plants and/or with plants. Through exercises and experiments they look for inspiration from plants, seeing if plants can inspire their creative processes. The workshop is based on testing methods that instructors, Lóa Björk and Hrefna Lind, have used in their practice. The workshop works with creative writing, improvisation and site-specific locations that could become exhibition spaces for the works created in the workshop. The first week of the workshop was spent exploring motives, choosing intentions and testing ideas. The second week is an independent work that ends with showing work in progress on the 3rd of September.
